Lou, as he prefers to be called, left Watertown in about the 9th grade. He remained in contact with classmates from grade school and was able to make it to our class get together in 2005. He and Rose had a short but enjoyable time with us and was committed to being back for 2006. In November he let us know that he had an idea for the reunion. In December two of the carvings showed up. Lou said they are made of maple wood and have an early American finish. They are 34 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" high. He would like them given away as door prizes at our 50th reunion. Lou says he has some other ideas he is working on as well. We are anxious to see what they will be. Whatever it is we know it will make the reunion just a bit more fun. Thanks, Lou | Nina has been working incredibly hard to ensure that our memories booklet will be a first class production. She is becoming an expert with Microsoft Publisher and EXCEL as she edits the many pages of information that she is gathering. She has had way too much fun calling classmates and getting the information for the booklet. Here is one excited gal and she WILL make the reunion a success. I doubt if she was watching the Super Bowl today because sometime during the afternoon I received the poem she had written about our reunion. Nina has lots of room to fill in the booklet and she is making sure that no space is left white. What's more important, she is making it fun as well. I have an idea we will be seeing more poetry from our resident poet. Thanks, Nina |
