Pictures of the Old Home Town

If you look carefully you will see that the old skating rink has fallen in but the remains are still there.  The entrance is in the center of the picture.  Who remembers the name of this place? This is the rock pile on the west side of Stony Point.  I vaguely remember there was an old legend that talks about the origin of the pile.  Does any one remember the story?

There is nothing left of the old Stony Point to take pictures of.  Several houses have been built in the area.  What was the name of the various facilities at the Point?  Can anyone remember which one of our classmates won a prize for naming the teen age hangout that went into business while we were in high school.?  What was the name of the hangout?

Ken Yocom submitted this picture recently.  He had received it from Roger Coon. (55).  Did anyone know the Spider Web had a green roof?  When did they blacktop the lake road?  It is still gravel on this picture.  Time has really taken a toll on this area.

I never dreamed that the floor just laid on the ground. Larry decided he would not skate today. It is nothing but a pile of ruins and lots of memories now.
Most of us seem to have spent many hours on Sunday night skating at the Spider Web.  We discovered that the ruins are still there.  Click on any of the pictures for a larger view
