August 9, 2006
The reunion is over and most of us are back home. If you are like me, you are tired, sorry that it was over so quick (is that all there is?) and dealing with problems that piled up while you were gone. I have already had inquiries about information on the web site. No, I don't have anything done except post a very nice Reflections poem that Nina sent me. It will probably be a couple weeks before I get much done. I will be helping my aunt in Watertown. Yes, I get to spend more time there. That is good.
When the "committee" met on Sunday I was given the go ahead to move the web site to a new host which will eliminate all the pop ups and ads. In hind sight we will be getting a new address but we will make the transition as painless as possible. Just keep coming back here for a while.
I will just say thanks to all those that worked so hard to make the reunion a success and those that attended that made it all worthwhile.
Wes The Latest News on Our 50th Reunion
July 5 The booklet is done and ready for printing. All the plans are complete and just a few details to work on. About 75 registrations have been received and so far we have 62 classmates that will be coming for the reunion. But there are still over 50 that we have not heard from. So, if you are one of those that have been putting off your registration check out the links above and get ready to join us. Me? I am all registered, have my part of the book done, registrations are all up to date. Fishing was very good and I have all the walleyes I can legally have frozen for that special day sometime this summer. We had another meeting in Watertown on June 27th and most of the loose ends are wrapped up. There are about 12 signed for golf and 26 signed up for the bus tour. Arrangements have been made to set up chairs at the art center for the Saturday night concert. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in August. Our next meeting will be July 18th, 6 PM at the Pizza Ranch in Watertown. We had a couple surprise guests at the last meeting. They may be back for this one. How about you? Wes March 21, 2006 Registration forms were mailed out near the end of February. A number have been returned and it looks like it should be a great celebration. Nina has been working feverishly on the reunion book and between her and Larry they have gotten excellent results in obtaining biographical information and pictures for the book. Nina has written some original poetry for us as well. It sounds like Jody is already buying materials for decorations and Mary Sheehan Shriver has sent out a call for memorabilia and door prizes. She thought it would be unique to have prizes from all the various places classmates have ended up at. Donations are coming in for the School Foundation. See Wes' comments on donations to the foundation. Feb 1, 2006 Committees have been forming to complete all the final preparations for our grand get together. Click here to see who is working to make it a great experience for you. Notice that there are still some blanks to be filled. There are some services that can be provided by those that do not live in the Watertown area. If you would like to be a host at one of the events please let us know. It will be the responsibility of the host to make sure that everyone feels welcome throughout the weekend. Please consider bring something representative of your home town/state or just something special to you that can be donated as a door prize. I am sure you will be hearing more about this as we get closer to August. Nov 2, 2005 Nina and I have been working on the cover for the booklet. Click her for a sample of what a completed page looks like. October 5, 2005 A very interesting offer! Yesterday I received an email from Donna (Moeller) Fjelstad. Click here to read it. We will be considering it as part of the reunion. It sounds like a great idea. What do you think? Wes October, 2005 Minutes from a recent formation meeting were mailed by email and snail mail. A survey was also mailed. Take a note of who your elected 50th class reunion officers are and be sure to let them know what you would like to see for the 50th. Be sure to get the surveys back so your ideas can be considered. Wes 3/26/05 Not much happening yet. Everything is still on track so be sure to have your calendars marked for the reunion which will be held August 4th, 5th and 6th of 2006. Wes |
